I think that it really good that Philly is creating the Avenue of the Arts and something that hopefully many cities will follow, not only is it good for the arts but also the customers. It brings attention to the Arts and the nicer venues bring more customers and fans. It also good to see what went into the design and contstruction of this project. A great way to revitalize an area and have it looked at in a whole new light. If you get a chance check http://www.atomictickets.com I wish Philly well in it's new endeavor and hope we see it other cities !

If the Philadelphia Phillies sign Cole Hamels

If the Philadelphia Phillies sign Cole Hamels to a long term deal will that guarantee them the Best pitching staff in MLB ?

With  Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Jonathan Papelbon just to mention a few I think
their staff is presently #1 ???

David Montgomery  Phillies team president says the money is available to retain the lefthander, who will be a free agent after the season. It appears it will come down to what the Phillies think is an appropriate length and what Hamel thinks.

My other question is what do you think Cole Hamels will get ?

Has the Red Sox owners decided to pull back the purse strings ?

The big-market Red Sox received some criticism following the trade of infielder Marco Scutaro, a relatively affordable player whom the team traded in part to free up payroll. Red Sox fans are complaining that the lack of spending  is due to Sox owner John Henry, spending $179 million this year on players for Liverpool Soccer Team !

Responding directly to the notion that the Red Sox were being impacted by the soccer team's expenditures, Larry Lucchino, the Red Sox's president and chief executive officer said: "That has not been the case. There has not been a situation where that was cited for a reason for us not to do something here."

With two open rotation spots, Boston has been linked to free-agent right-hander Roy Oswalt repeatedly this winter. Lucchino did not close the door on the possibility of Oswalt signing with the Sox.

"Until he's signed, I think there'll be a clamoring for him in a lot of [Major League cities]," Lucchino said. "I know [general manager Ben Cherington] has been in contact with Oswalt and with his agent."

I would love to hear your opinion
